Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Smart Start and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (DPIL) are working together to get books into the hands of North Carolina's youngest children.
In 2017, North Carolina's state lawmakers included $3.5 million in the first year and $7 million in the second year of the state budget for Smart Start to administer DPIL across North Carolina. DPIL is a program created to foster a love of reading among children aged birth to five through the gift of a specially selected book delivered right to their home each month.
"I am thrilled that my Imagination Library is going to be offered to so many children in North Carolina," stated Dolly Parton, the founder of the Imagination Library. "Working together we can help children dream more, learn more, care more, and be more."
How to Register
Any child aged 0-5 with a Cabarrus County address can be enrolled in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.
