Week of the Young Child | April 6-12
Week of the Young Child (WOYC) returns with even more exciting ways to celebrate the young children in our lives while raising awareness about the need for early childhood programs and services in Cabarrus County!
The purpose of WOYC is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) established the WOYC in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years lay the foundation for children's success in school and later life. WOYC is a time to plan how we -- as citizens of a community, of a state, and of a nation -- will better meet the needs of all young children and their families.
Children learn so much as they enjoy music, explore food and cooking, build together, create art, and celebrate with their families!
Below, you will find this year's WOYC theme days, proclamations from the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners, and lots of activity ideas for you to explore. We invite you to celebrate and shine a spotlight on your classroom, advocacy, and family engagement activities all week long via our social media channels (Facebook / Instagram)!
