Cabarrus Share Grant Program
Cabarrus Share is a pilot program through June 30, 2026, that splits the cost of Childcare between the Employee, Employer, and the State of NC through the Cabarrus County Partnership for Children. This opportunity is funded through a grant and will only be available until June 30, 2026.
Mission: To provide an affordable childcare option to those who do not qualify for Childcare Subsidy Vouchers or NC Pre-Kindergarten, but are still struggling to afford quality Early Childhood Education for their children.

Affordable Childcare for Some Cabarrus Employees
One of the biggest problems for young families in the workforce is the cost of childcare — resulting in more parents being left out of the workforce. Cabarrus Share Grant Program, an innovative Public Private Partnership in Cabarrus County, was created to change all that.
Through the Cabarrus Share Grant Program, a participating employer can contribute a flat fee for an employee’s childcare cost — and the Cabarrus County Partnership for Children will equally match that flat fee — and the parent will pay the balance of their child’s tuition.
The Cabarrus County Partnership for Children will coordinate the childcare payment with the participating business and the parents’ childcare provider. With the Cabarrus Share Grant Program, parents can go to work knowing that their child is safe, cared for, and has the opportunity to succeed.

Lower your Childcare Cost
Through Cabarrus Share Grant Program, the cost of childcare is shared equally by your employer and the Cabarrus County Partnership for Children — and then you must pay the balance of your tuition and all other fees. That means your tuition costs will be reduced by the grant each month until June 30, 2026. Plus, you get to choose which childcare provider you prefer.
Go to Work Knowing Your Child Is Safe
If the high cost of childcare has prevented you from pursuing a great job, look no further than an employer that participates in Cabarrus Share Grant Program.
- Gives you confidence knowing your children are in good care while you’re at work, so they can be successful
- Will help you find licensed childcare providers
- Improves your work-life-family balance
- Help you pursue a career
How It Works
If your employer participates in the Cabarrus Share Grant Program, they will invite you to complete the Cabarrus Share Grant Program Application, and the Cabarrus Share Coordinator will contact you once your application is submitted and verified your employment with your employer. At that point, your employer will contribute a flat fee for the cost of your tuition, and the Cabarrus County Partnership for Children will match that contribution with a grant, and that amount will be paid to your childcare provider monthly for your child, and you will pay the balance of the tuition cost and all the other fees. Which means you can just focus on your family and enjoy your childcare cost savings.
