Training, consultation, and coaching for early childhood professionals.
The Technical Assistance (TA) Coaching Program provides directors and teachers with individualized and group support to enhance the quality of early childhood education across Cabarrus County. TA Coaches utilize evidence-based practices to strengthen the development of children ages birth to five and ultimately, the quality of early childhood programs.
Technical Assistants provide consultation and coaching based on data collected from staff and family surveys. Support is delivered in increments aligned with identified program and classroom needs. Using evidence-based strategies and tools obtained through the Arts and Science TA training, coaches guide programs through a continuous improvement cycle that includes preparation, planning, implementation, evaluation, and sustainability.
TA Coaches also serve as a bridge between early childhood programs and the broader community. They connect educators and families with resources addressing early childhood mental health and collaborate with professionals such as Pamela Ragan, Pediatric Developmental Specialist at Kids Interactive Development Services, along with other community partners, to ensure families receive comprehensive support that extends beyond the classroom environment.
Consultation and coaching services are offered one-on-one, in groups, or through a combination of in-person and virtual sessions. Services may vary depending on program needs, beginning with a minimum of two professional contacts. As engagement deepens, consultation may transition into an ongoing coaching relationship that emphasizes relationship building, observation, and feedback over a 6–12 month period.
Throughout the coaching and mentoring process, a written visit summary form will be provided as documentation of TA support, progress, and implementation outcomes achieved by directors and staff.
